A few years after GLOCK delivered its first 30,000 G17 9x19 pistols to the Austrian Army, we fixed our sights on entering the U.S. market, where our first subsidiary was founded. Armed with confidence from knowing we had effectively revolutionized the modern pistol, we began the challenge of conveying the benefits of our innovations in polymer design and our simple to use “Safe Action”® System.
The debate was furious at first, but the results are irrefutable: even our own expectations have been exceeded. Today, GLOCK pistols are carried by approximately 65% of all Law Enforcement agencies in the U.S.; numerous branches of the Military have embraced GLOCK as their pistol of choice; and, the consumer market has followed suit.
